学院拥有国家级Linux技术推广与培训中心、国家西北地区CAD培训网络-兰州理工大学CAD培训中心；拥有甘肃省制造业信息化技术创新中心、甘肃省中医药大数据产业技术工程研究中心、甘肃省城市轨道交通智能运营工程研究中心三个省级工程中心，兰州市物联网工程研究中心、兰州市物联网人才培养基地等市级科研和人才培养中心。

学院建立了网络与信息安全、复杂系统智能信息处理、智能制造与工业互联网、宽带无线理论信息处理等学科团队。
    近年以来，学院共获批国家科技支撑计划项目1项，国家重点研发计划项目1项，国家自然基金项目58项，省部级项目63项，厅局级项目45项。项目研究在智能智造、智能优化、网络安全保障、数据科学工程等研究领域取得了一批国内领先的研究理论与优秀成果。通过科研成果鉴定5项，其中“明胶生产退灰、中和、提胶工序综合自动化控制系统及关键技术研究”和“明胶生产离子交换工序自动控制系统的应用研究”两项成果取得国际先进水平。学院发表学术论文近2000余篇，其中：SCI论文200余篇，EI论文400余篇，出版专著10余部。获得发明专利和实用新型专利共80余项，软件著作权128项。其中4项专利成果完成了转让，得到一定的经济效益。学院获得省、厅局级奖项共45余项。其中甘肃省科技进步奖7项，其他省级奖项8项，甘肃省教育厅科技奖11项，兰州市科技进步奖7项，甘肃省各类工程协会科技奖9项。随着学院获批科研项目逐年增加，项目成果登记达到30项。科研进款8000余万。

The college has a national-level Linux technology promotion and training center, a CAD training network in the northwest region of China - Lanzhou University CAD Training Center. It also possesses three provincial engineering centers: Gansu Province Manufacturing Informatization Technology Innovation Center, Gansu Province Traditional Chinese Medicine Big Data Industry Technology Engineering Research Center, and Gansu Province Urban Rail Transit Intelligent Operation Engineering Research Center. Additionally, it has municipal-level research and talent training centers such as the Lanzhou City Internet of Things Engineering Research Center and the Lanzhou City Internet of Things Talent Training Base.

The college has established discipline teams such as network and information security, complex system intelligent information processing, intelligent manufacturing and industrial Internet, broadband wireless theoretical information processing, etc.

Since 2004, the college has been approved for one National Science and Technology Support Program project, one National Key Research and Development Program project, 55 National Natural Science Foundation projects, 58 provincial and ministerial level projects, and 45 departmental and bureau level projects. The project research has achieved a number of leading domestic research theories and excellent results in the fields of intelligent manufacturing, intelligent optimization, network security assurance, data science engineering, and other research fields. Through the identification of 5 scientific research achievements, two of them, "Research on the Comprehensive Automation Control System and Key Technologies of Gelatin Production Ash Returning, Neutralization, and Extraction Processes" and "Application Research on the Automatic Control System of Gelatin Production Ion Exchange Processes", have achieved international advanced levels. The college has published nearly 2000 academic papers, including over 200 SCI papers, over 400 EI papers, and over 10 monographs. Obtained over 80 invention patents and utility model patents, as well as 128 software copyrights. Four of the patent achievements have been transferred and have achieved certain economic benefits. The college has won more than 45 provincial and department level awards. Among them, there are 7 Gansu Provincial Science and Technology Progress Awards, 8 other provincial awards, 11 Gansu Provincial Department of Education Science and Technology Awards, 7 Lanzhou City Science and Technology Progress Awards, and 9 Gansu Provincial Engineering Association Science and Technology Awards. As the number of research projects approved by the college increases year by year, the registration of project achievements has reached 30. More than 77.4 million yuan in scientific research revenue.
